Cambridge Postdoc Enterprise competition: now open for entries

Are you a postdoc interested in starting a company to commercialise your research? Now’s the time to start your entrepreneurial journey.

  • Win funding for your idea of up to £20k
  • Receive mentoring and support
  • Network with like-minded postdocs
  • Pitch to high-profile investors and technology transfer experts

Cambridge Enterprise and the Entrepreneurial Postdocs of Cambridge (EPOC) have launched their business creation competition for postdocs of the University of Cambridge, a fantastic opportunity for anyone with a passion for entrepreneurship and an idea to explore.

The contest offers the chance for you to win early funding for your business idea, with awards of £20k and £10k for the two winners.

Running for the second time in 2016, the prizes this year are bigger than ever, but it’s not just investment that’s up for grabs. If you reach the semi-final, you will receive high-level mentoring from Cambridge Enterprise’s network to improve your plans. And if you reach the grand finale, hosted on 27 October at Peterhouse College, you’ll pitch your idea to a panel of judges. Two winners will be selected.

Your research could lead to the next great idea that changes society – why not explore it?

Projects must be led by a current postdoc of the University or have a majority of team members who are current University postdocs. For an informal chat about your entry, contact Tania Balsa, an investment manager at Cambridge Enterprise.

Apply here. The closing date is 30 June 2016.
