SAS’s Life Science Analytics Framework (LSAF) is a comprehensive, cloud-native platform specifically designed to support the end‑to‑end management, analysis, and reporting of clinical trial data. It combines a secure central repository with workflow orchestration, version control, audit trails, and support for CDISC standards. Users, including non‑statisticians, can run advanced analytics and generate tables, listings, and figures via an intuitive interface, while power users can leverage open‑source languages like Python or R alongside SAS Viya .LSAF has a long track record in the pharmaceutical industry, being a standard for trial submissions and is now offered as a fully hosted SaaS GxP environment. Its cloud-native architecture delivers scalability, robust compliance, and tight integration with SAS Viya services like Viya Workbench, Viya Copilot, and Data Maker, enabling seamless deployment of AI and machine learning across clinical pipelines.

 

Cinical Acceleration Repository & Synthetic Data Generation

In June 2024, SAS launched the Clinical Acceleration Repository: a secure, modular, cloud-native content management system tailored for clinical research. It simplifies the intake, validation, integration, and packaging of data from multiple sources and supports electronic signatures, audit logging, and versioning to fast‑track regulatory submissions. Complementing this, SAS introduced Data Maker, a synthetic data generator now in private preview on Viya. It creates statistically faithful yet privacy-preserving tabular data, tackling shortages in real-world or sensitive datasets. Major pharma firms like AstraZeneca are already exploring its potential to accelerate drug discovery and development .
