Sam Goodall, Chief Executive Officer, Cambridge Cleantech

Sam Goodall is the Chief Executive Officer of Cambridge Cleantech, the UK’s first cleantech innovation network and one of Europe’s leading climate tech innovation enablers.  With more than two decades of experience in multi geography project management, regeneration, and economic development, Sam excels in building and connecting national and international innovation ecosystems that support and accelerate the early adoption of climate positive technology. Most notable achievements include overseeing international accelerator partnerships at Cambridge Cleantech, delivering a European energy efficiency programme, and leading policy development for OFGEM. Sam possesses strong communication skills and a strategic approach to decision-making at senior management and board levels. As CEO of Cambridge Cleantech, Sam helps connect members with impact investors, strategic partners, and R&D expertise that facilitates high scale innovation. During his tenure, Cambridgeshire Cleantech has grown to include more than 300 member organisations across clean energy, the built environment, transportation, and the circular economy.

SYLVIE RUSSELL, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, Cambridge Cleantech

Sylvie is the Chief Operating Officer at Cambridge Cleantech and has over 20 years of experience in senior roles in international companies, from SMEs and charities to large multi-national brands.

She manages the Cleantech Venture Day, a flagship pitching event and a meeting place for innovators, investors, large enterprises and economic development partners to see next generation climate tech solutions and investment opportunities.  Sylvie managed the delivery of the Act4Green programme in 2021 and the UK-India Tech Startup programme 2022, both intensive business accelerator programmes for British and Indian cleantech start-ups supported by the UK Government’s FCDO office.

With a French Baccalaureat and a 4-year international business and management degree, her career has taken her to Monaco, the UK, Spain and Uruguay, providing her with experiences that have helped shape her understanding of different cultures and working environments. With every role and challenge, her aim has always been to ensure that everything goes smoothly for everyone involved.
