Maxwell Centre

Cambridge is a city where cycling and walking are the best way to get around. We encourage Maxwell Centre community and visitors to opt for such sustainable travel whenever possible, and here are some ways to aid it:

Community bikes

We run a Shared Bikes Pool for use by the broad Maxwell Community members, to enable more sustainable (and free) travel to meetings elsewhere in Cambridge.

There are seven bicycles on site - four general purpose comfort bikes, two electric bikes and a folding bike. Once you have registered for the scheme and your registration is processed, you will be able to book and use these bikes for work-related travel within, from, and to, the West Cambridge campus. Link to register for the scheme and full conditions of use can be found through here. Once your application is processed, you will receive a confirmation and a welcome pack  - and you will be ready to go!

The scheme is run entirely by volunteers. If you want to lend a hand, or have any questions about the scheme do get in touch with us on: bikes@maxwell.cam.ac.uk

Bike repair stations

The university provided several self-service bike repair stations across Cambridge, including West Cambridge campus. Each station has tools and equipment such as a track pump, screwdrivers, spanners etc.

You can find all locations on the University Map. Click on the map markers to see a photo of the station you selected, which can help you locate it.
