The new Henry Royce National Battery Suite will be officially opened on October 31 at the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy, with a free symposium in the Maxwell Centre on the latest developments in this fast-growing field.
The Battery Suite will uniquely allow exploration of scalable manufacturing and processing of battery materials, for the translation of novel energy materials into application, bridging the gap between research and industry. This Suite of equipment will be available on open access and includes a glove box, planetary mixer, centrifuge, freeze dryer, shear mixer, reactor synthesis, digestion reactor and rotary evaporator.
The event will include talks from academic researchers across battery research, spinouts, with lab tours of the Battery Suite.
